Punjab Congress MLAs on Monday said former Minister Bikram Singh Majithia is a coward and his making false allegations of ‘vendetta politics’ in an act of extreme frustration, as everyone in Akali circles blames him for historic defeat of Shiromani Akali Dal. This was said in a joint statement by MLAs Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring Kuljit Singh Nagra, Bharat Bhusan Ashu Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Dharamvir Agnihotri, Tarsem Singh DC, Barinder Meet Singh Pahra,
Reacting to statements of Bikram Majithia in Dera Baba Nanak and Fatehgarh Churian assembly segments, where he dared Senior Congress leader Sukhjinder Randhawa to arrest him, the Congress MLAs said that he is not such a big shot that such a senior leader like Randhawa would be deputed to catch such novice politician, who is a figure of hate in entire Punjab. It is due to unprecedented anger against Bikram Majithia and his coterie that the Badal family and Akali Dal-BJP alliance had to face a virtual rot in the elections. Congress MLAs mocked Majithia and said "Bakre di maa kadon tak khair manoe…, Congress will not allow Majithia to run away from misdeeds, and will fulfill his wish to go behind bars". The entry of ‘Chitta’ in Punjab and Majithia in Politics in 2007, is not mere coincidence; it’s a act of mischief which ruined the youth of Punjab.
The State Government and Central Government are probing the issue. Though Public is very much aware that who is the real culprit for ‘chitta’ in Punjab, but investigating agencies are waiting for clinching evidences for nabbing the culprit, and at that time not Randhawa but only a Constable will fulfill your wish to be arrested, said Congress leaders.“We don’t want to drag you in history, when your forefathers got huge Monitory benefits for siding with killers of Jallaianwala Bagh massacre.
However, Bikram Majithia must explain what type relationship he had with Satpreet Satta, and why latter is not coming to Punjab to join investigation in Bhola drug racket case. If Bikram is innocent, he must bring Satta to India from Canada, to remove slur of patronizing Satta in drug trade”, asked the Congressmen to Bikram. The Congress MLAs challenged Bikram Majithia and his coterie for a public debate on any issue, including false FIRs, which is mere allegation, to gain political sympathy.
