Chandigarh. The Punjab Cabinet under the Chairmanship of Captain Amarinder Singh today took historical steps which will be decisive in transforming Punjab into a progressive state. In a press statement issued today by Gurpartap Singh Mann, Member of the Manifesto Drafting Committee, Secretary and Media Panellist of PPCC congratulated Capt. Amarinder Singh for taking historic decisions and rolling out a blue print for implementation of the Manifesto. S. Mann said “I am proud of having been a part of the Committee which prepared the Manifesto for Punjab Congress. The decisions taken by the Cabinet today for fulfilling the poll promises show the seriousness of the Punjab Congress headed by Capt. Amarinder Singh for ushering Punjab into a progressive State”.
The landmark decisions of putting an end to VIP culture, Halqa Incharge system, the DTO offices shows the firm commitment of Capt. Amarinder Singh for implementation of the promises made by Congress. He further said that Cabinet decisions will boost the sagging morale of Investors in Punjab which is much needed to give an impetus to manufacturing sector; essential for boosting the economy & generating employment. These decisions will pull Punjab out of the politico-economic quagmire he added. A strong Lokpal bill to be brought in shortly will be a landmark for ending the rampant corruption. Most important decisions taken by Cabinet are to put a stop on the auction of land of farmers and to bring in a full report and roadmap in 60 days on farmers’ and rural indebtedness. He further said that a decisive step has been taken to eliminate drugs by decreasing the number of liquor vends in Punjab and creating a high powered task force to end drug menace.
